Chie Shinohara's Red River: Everything You Need to Know About the Upcoming Anime Adaptation (2026)

Tatsunoko Production announced a TV anime adaptation of Chie Shinohara's Red River manga, set to debut this summer. The anime will be directed by Kōsuke Kobayashi, with Yoriko Tomita overseeing the scripts and Kenji Fujisaki designing the characters. Historical researchers include Kimiyoshi Matsumura and Daisuke Yoshida, members of the Japanese Institute of Anatolian Archaeology. Viz Media released the manga in English from 2004 to 2010 and started re-releasing it in 3-in-1 omnibus editions in October 2024. The manga inspired a stage play by the Takarazuka Revue in 2018.
